CCI Continuing Medical Education Requirements

   

Currently, CCI requires the maintenance of 36 continuing medical education (CME) hours every three years for the Registry specialties of Invasive, Non-Invasive and Vascular Technology. Twelve (12) of these hours must be directly related to the registrants field of specialty. Registrants with the CCT certification are required to maintain16 contact hours, 12 of which are related to EKG, stress testing and Holter monitoring.

Registrants are provided with additional information regarding CME upon successful completion of the examination (s) of their choice. Successful re-examination will meet triennial CME requirements.

CCI CME CREDITS


Burwin courses are evaluated and granted continuing medical education (CME) credits by one of the following organizations:

  • Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS)
  • American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT)
  • Florida Department of Health Bureau of Radiation Control (Florida RT’s)

Course credits are recognized and accepted by the following organizations:

  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Canadian Association of Registered Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP)
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

The number of CME credits that is available for each course is given in the course description. If necessary, check with your state society to confirm these credits are acceptable.

To receive CME credits for a course, you must complete and submit all course assignments, and obtain a mark of 70% or higher on each assignment. It is not necessary to take the final examination to receive course CME credits.
