CCI - CARDIAC SONOGRAPHY

Cardiac Sonography Part 1 is approved for 30 CEUs.
Cardiac Sonography Part 2 is approved for 30 CEUs.

The CCI - Cardiac Sonography Parts 1 and 2 courses are designed:

• as CCI Registry examination preparation courses
• as a means for registrants to acquire 30 CEUs in cardiovascular related studies

Students preparing for the Non-Invasive/Echocardiography Registry Examination (CCI-RCS Exam) will find Cardiac Sonography Parts 1 and 2 comprehensive courses which cover ALL ASPECTS OF ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY found on the CCI - RCS exam Knowledge and Task Lists along with other aspects of cardiac evaluation. No textbook is required.

Students preparing for their CCI-RCS exam will also need to take Sonography Principles and Instrumentation, course 002A. This course covers all the physics and instrumentation items on the CCI- RCS Exam Knowledge and Task Lists. No textbook is required.

* Cardiac Sonography Part 1 includes a DVD to help students with their understanding of echocardiographic technique, views and cardiac pathology.

* Cardiac Sonography Part 2 includes 3 DVDs to help students with their understanding of echocardiographic technique, views and cardiac pathology. Two DVDs are case studies and the third is a mock Registry examination.

The Cardiac Sonography courses are each divided into four modules with an open book assignment following each module. 30 CEUs ARE AWARDED UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE FOUR ASSIGNMENTS. At the completion of the course, students may take an OPTIONAL closed book examination to help them prepare for the CCI - RCS examination. Registrants may find this optional exam useful in determining their strengths and weaknesses.

These two courses have been assessed by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) and have each been approved for 30 continuing medical education (CME) credits. These CMEs are accepted by CCI as 30 CEUs and by the ARDMS, CARDUP, SVU and ARRT as 30 CMEs.
