This mini course is an introduction to physiology of the human cardiovascular system. The first half of the course discusses the heart as well as factors which affect the heart's function; the second half of the course examines the blood vessels and characteristics of blood flow.
This course is suitable for all allied health care fields including radiography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and nursing. Students who intend to take the more advanced and comprehensive Burwin registry preparation courses should find this course helpful to better understand the more advanced material covered in Cardiovascular Physical Principles, (course 011), Vascular Physical Principles (course 013), and Vascular Technology (course 014).
This course has been evaluated by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) and has been approved for 10 continuing medical education (CME) credits.
