ABOUT ARDMS
ABOUT CCI

ARDMS is the credentialing body associated with all Diagnostic Ultrasound studies including Echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound) and Vascular Ultrasound.

ARDMS awards the following three credentials:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)

The ARDMS does not credential in EKG, Stress, or Holter Monitoring

CCI administers certification examinations to health care professionals in Invasive (Cardiac Catherization), Non-Invasive (Echocardiography), Vascular Ultrasound, and Cardiography (EKG, Stress, and Holter Monitoring).

CCI is the credentialing body devoted to Cardiovascular Technology and awards the following credentials:

  • CCT - Certified Cardiographic Technician
  • RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
  • RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer
  • RVS - Registered Vascular Specialist

RDCS versus RDS Credential
The RDCS credential is awarded by the ARDMS.
The RDS credential is awarded by CCI.
Both credentials are accepted credentials in the field of cardiac ultrasound.
RVT versus RVS Credential
The RVT credential is awarded by the ARDMS.
The RVS credential is awarded by CCI.
Both RVT and RVS are accepted credentials in the field of vascular ultrasound.

ABOUT OTHER COURSES

The Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound courses are aimed at health care professionals interested in learning about this diagnostic application. Course 034 and 035 offers the same content as course 032 in a two-part format. These courses are approved for non physician continuing medical education credits.

Breast Sonography for Mammographers has been created for Registered Mammographers who are interested in obtaining ARRT certification in Breast Sonography. The course covers the ARRT content outline of the Breast Sonography Certificate Examination and should enable the student to successfully challenge this examination. The course offers all mammographers an excellent opportunity to obtain a full and comprehensive knowledge of breast sonography from the normal anatomy to benign and malignant features.
